Quilts Department
Rules and Information
- All Quilts made by the exhibitor will be judged if turned in before Wednesday, August 21st by 10:00 am.
- All articles must be the work of the exhibitor to be eligible for judging
- Quilts owned by the exhibitor but not made by the exhibitor will be displayed, but will not be judged. Please attach a card with any information about the quilt, history or otherwise. The quilts will be eligible for the Superintendent, People’s Choice and Commissioners ribbons.
- Measurements referenced in each division refers to the perimeter of each quilt entered
- Divisions 4, 8, 12 may have groups of items such as table runner and place mats, count as one item
- All items must have three layers: A top, batting, and a bottom. The layers must be held together.
- False backs ARE NOT allowed
- Pack each quilt separately in a clear, non-returnable plastic bag with entry tag visible
- Register entries online at lcfair-rodeo.fairentry.com until August 19th or register entries in person on August 20th and 21st.
- All judging is done using the Danish method.

Inland Northwest Machine Quilters Award
*Inland Northwest Machine Quilters guild of Spokane, Washington will be awarding one Best of Show Machine Quilting Ribbon and one Honorable Mention Ribbon to the Machine Quilters.
*Quilts of any size or style in the Adult Open Division that is machine quilted, either professionally or by the quilt maker, are eligible for the award.
Washington State Quilter’s
*The Washington State Quilters guild of Spokane, Washington will be awarding a cash prize of $20 and ribbon to the first place winner and one additional ribbon for the second place winner.
*Quilts of any size, crib quilts or wall-hangings in the Adult Open Division that show best work in construction, use of color and design and application of hand quilting or machine quilting stitches are eligible for this award. Whole cloth quilts are also included. All quilts must be owned by the exhibitor.
*All quilts must be pieced/appliqued by the exhibitor. WSQ is allowing quilts that have been machine or hand quilted by others to be eligible for this award. A quilt that is entered with all work completed by the exhibitor should be given special consideration for this award.
