Ambassador Program Application Requirements

Purpose: The purpose of the Lincoln County Ambassador program is to promote the Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo and the numerous opportunities available to get involved in the Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo. This program is sponsored by the Lincoln County Fair Advisory Board and Friends of the Lincoln County Fair. Each Ambassador will be awarded a scholarship in the amount of $500.00 towards the school of choice.

Eligibility: Each application must meet the following criteria to be considered:

  1. Be a high school junior or senior for the 2024/2025 school year
  2. Live within the boundaries of Lincoln County or attend a school within the boundaries of Lincoln County.
  3. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and no failing grades.
  4. Never have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony offense.
  5. Applicants must be single, have never married, nor are planning to marry before October of the current year.

Term: If selected, your term will begin August 21, 2024, and conclude August 21, 2025. If not selected, you can reapply for the position the following year, if you still meet eligibility requirements.

Process of Selection:

  • Applications for Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo Ambassadors shall be distributed, under the direction of the Ambassador Committee, to all high schools in Lincoln.
  • A selection committee will select the top four candidates and those candidates will be interviewed by the selection committee. The Ambassadors selected at the LCFAB meeting prior to Fair & Rodeo and will be presented on August 23, 2024, directly before the Friday night rodeo.
  • The top two qualified applicants will be selected to represent Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo as the Ambassadors.
  • Scholarships in the amount of $500.00 will be awarded to each Ambassador. A certificate of scholarship will be presented to the Ambassadors at the October LCFAB meeting.

Application process:

Each candidate is required to complete an application and submit along with the items listed below.  The completed application must include the following (total points 500):

  • Cover Page and Photo (50 points)
  • Fair Involvement Page (150 points)
  • An Essay on “The Importance of the County Fair in America Today”-not to exceed 300 words. (100 points)
  • An official transcript (25 points)
  • Three letters of recommendation (75 points)
  • Resume, including school and community involvement, future plans, etc. (100 points)
