Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo General Rules

  1. The Lincoln County Fair Advisory Board and Lincoln County Fair Office management will take every precaution, in its power, for the safe preservation of all livestock and articles on exhibited and all property of every character entered for competition or display and subjected to the control of the Fair Advisory Board and Fair Office management.
  2. No firearms allowed on the Fairgrounds without the written approval from the Fair Advisory Board.
  3. No illegal use of drugs or alcohol on the Fairgrounds at any time.
  4. No skateboards or scooters allowed on the Fairgrounds.
  5. No “For Sale” signs permitted on any exhibit at the Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo.
  6. No person, unless contracted by Lincoln County Fair will be permitted to distribute or post advertising matter upon the Fairgrounds, except from within their place of business or exhibit space.
  7. No distribution of handbills, fliers and heralds will not be permitted.
  8. Begging, soliciting, signing or public speaking are prohibited.
  9. Golf carts or ATVs are not allowed on the Fairgrounds by non Fair Advisory Board members or unauthorized personnel.
  10. All Fair participants must conduct themselves as responsible citizens.
  11. Any misconduct or unlawful acts on the part of exhibitors, patrons or leaders will be grounds for suspension of that person participating in the Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo and will immediately leave the Fairgrounds.
  12. In the event of misconduct on the part of any citizen involved in the Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo, the Fair Advisory Board and the department superintendent will rule on the suspension.
  13. Violation of any of these rules by exhibitors may lead to removal of exhibitor and exhibits as well as forfeit of ribbons premium points and premium monies.
  14. The Lincoln County Fair Advisory Board reserves the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations to settle all controversial incidents during the Fair & Rodeo.
  15. The Lincoln County Fair Advisory Board reserves the right to add or change any rules it deems necessary.

Inappropriate Behavior

  1. Inappropriate behavior by parents/guardians or exhibitors such as yelling and cursing at Fair & Rodeo officials, superintendents or personnel will not be tolerated
  2. Any inappropriate behavior by parents/guardians or exhibitors should be reported to a member of the Lincoln County Fair Advisory Board.
  3. If parents/guardians or exhibitors have exhibited inappropriate behavior, of any kind, they will meet with the designated Fair Advisory Board members to hear their side of the incident.
  4. The designated Fair Advisory Board members will take one of two courses:
    a. the offending individual(s) will be given a verbal warning.
    b. the offending individuals(s) will be asked to leave the Fairgrounds.
  5. The decision of the designated Fair Advisory Board members will be final
  6. Inappropriate behavior may also cause the parents/guardians or exhibitors to lose the privilege of attending future Fair & Rodeos.

Complaint Process

  1. If a parent /guardian or exhibitor would like to file a complaint of any decisions made during the Fair & Rodeo, a written complaint be be submitted to the Lincoln County Fair Board President within 24 hours of the decision.
  2. All complaints must be in writing and accompanied by a deposit of $50.00, which will be forfeited if the complaint is not sustained.
  3. The complaint must clearly state the cause of complaint and the parties involved with the complaint.
  4. Complaints will be answered, in writing, by the Lincoln County Fair Advisory Board within 60 day of the date of the filing of the complaint.

Liability Disclaimer

  1. All exhibitors will be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss, injury or damage done to, or occasioned by, or arising from any animal exhibited and shall absolve the Fair Advisory Board and Lincoln County of all legal or other proceedings in regard thereto.
  2. If any others interested in the property desire protection against loss, damage or injury from fire or any other cause, they must make their own arrangements accordingly.
  3. In no way will the Fair Advisory Board be responsible for any loss or damage or injury of any character to any such property while the same is on the Fairgrounds.
  4. No officer, trustee, superintendent or any employee of Lincoln County has the authority to change or suspend this rule.

Exhibitors

  1. The Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo is open to all exhibitors.
  2. 4-H and FFA entries have been expanded to include members outside of Lincoln County.
  3. Exhibitors shall, at all times, give the necessary care and attention to all their exhibits while at the Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo.
  4. All exhibitors, including clubs and organizations, will be assigned an exhibitor number or automatically assigned an exhibitor number through Fair Entry.
  5. Exhibitors can check with the department Superintendent they are entering an exhibit for exhibitor numbers on entry day, August 21st.
  6. Exhibitors must permit the use of any animal or other exhibit needed for judging contests.

Still Life Exhibits

  1. Check in all exhibits with the department superintendent on August 21st.
  2. Floral and Baking exhibits have specific times for the morning of August 22nd, see the Foral and Baking departments rules for more information.
  3. All exhibits must be in place by 9:00 pm on August 21st.
  4. Late entries may be displayed but will not be judged.
  5. No exhibits will be removed until 9:00 am Sunday, August 25th.
  6. Exhibits removed early will result in the forfeit of premium payment.
  7. Exhibits displayed in the Booth department are ineligible to compete in individual classes.
  8. Department superintendents have the authority to refuse any exhibit that is unworthy to be exhibited because of quality standards.
  9. Exhibits not picked up on Sunday, August 25th by 3:00 pm, may be picked up at the Fair Office on Monday, August 26th from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Livestock, Horse & Mule and Small Animal Exhibits

Entry Fee Amounts:
$15.00 per head for beef, horses & mules, swine, sheep & goats.
$5.00 per head, up to 4 for poultry, rabbits & cavies-additional entries, no charge.

  1. All entries are due by August 2nd to the Fair Office or online with FairEntry for livestock, horses & mules, small animals.
  2. All animals need to be in their designated areas by 9:00 pm on August 21st.
  3. Department superintendents have the authority to refuse any exhibit that is unworthy to be exhibited because of quality standards.
  4. No small animal exhibits will be removed until 9:00 am Sunday, August 25th.
  5. All livestock exhibitors and parents/guardians must sign a Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo Waiver and Consent Form and on file at the Fair Office by August 2nd.

Judging

  1. All Open, 4-H and FFA exhibits will be judged on the Danish Award system:
    a. exhibits will be judged against a standard achievement and not against each other.
    b. all may earn blue, red or white ribbons.
  2. All livestock and horses will be judged on the American Standard System:
    a. competitive among exhibitors in section or class.
    b. only one first, second, third place will be awarded to exhibitors section or class.
  3. Judges will award ribbons only to worthy exhibits, regardless of number of entries in that division, class, section or lot.
  4. The decision of the judge is final; there will be no changing of ribbons by anyone after judging is completed.
  5. If there should be any questions as to the regularity of entries in any class, the judges shall report to the department superintendent for any necessary adjustments.
  6. Any exhibitor has the right to dispute any judging irregularities to the department superintendent who will report the dispute to the Fair Advisory Board.

Ribbons and Premium Points

  1. Only blue ribbon exhibits will be eligible for Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, and Best of Show.
  2. Grand Champion, Reserve Champion and Best of Show ribbons will only be awarded if there are at least 5 exhibits in each section or lot.
  3. One County Commissioners’ Award ribbon will be allowed per department and no points will be awarded.
  4. No premiums will be paid on any exhibit not properly listed on an exhibitor form, including correct department, division, class as well as section and lot.
  5. Premiums will be paid for Blue Red and white ribbons for 4- H, FFA, and Open, except where otherwise designated.
  6. Adult white ribbons will not receive premium monies.
  7. For Grand Champion, Reserve Champion and Best of Show Ribbons, points will not be paid for the blue ribbon accompanying these ribbons.
  8. Additional special awards may be awarded by department superintendents but no points will be awarded for these awards.
  9. All premium checks must be cashed within 30 days of presentation.
  10. Please notify Fair Office if you would like to donate your premium money back to the Fair & Rodeo.
